The Heart of Historic Bucks County
Located in Holland, Pennsylvania, Twining Village is nestled in Bucks County. Rich in history, the county served as the preparation site for George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River during the Revolutionary War. It also houses Pennsbury Manor, William Penn's 43-acre estate. Today, the area preserves its roots through nearby historic sites, parks, and museums.
Although Twining Village boasts a rural setting, urban amenities are only a short drive away in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Plus, the Bucks County region is replete with cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities. Residents can take a leisurely drive to view the area's covered bridges or shop at Peddler's Village, Franklin Mills, or one of the area's many specialty shops. Villagers can play a game of golf at the local country club or simply take a trip to visit area attractions such as the Mercer Museum.
Health care is readily available with major hospitals just minutes from the campus. Easily located, Twining Village can be accessed via the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I-95, or Rts. 322 and 532.
A Warm, Inviting Atmosphere
Providing a warm and caring environment, Twining Village evokes a sense of community in which staff and residents alike are considered part of the village family. The community values family ties and friendships. For a nominal fee, Twining Village even offers elegant guest accommodations, making it especially convenient for out-of-town visitors to spend time with residents.
A Heritage of Caring
In 1978, Twining Village was constructed to meet the needs of a local Lutheran congregation. What began as an independent living and skilled nursing center almost 30 years ago has blossomed into a continuing care community consisting of 224 senior living apartments, 120 assisted living residences, and more than 80 nursing care beds, serving a population of older adults from all faiths and backgrounds.
Today, Twining Village Retirement Community is operated by Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries, which offers a range of senior living and social services to people of all ages. Diakon carries on a heritage of gracious hospitality and service dating to 1868.
